The Burgess New Venture Challenge (BNVC) held at the Graduate in East Lansing on April 7th, 2022, gathered over 300 guests, including friends, family, alumni, and students. As the head designer of this extraordinary event, I played a pivotal role in crafting a captivating atmosphere that engaged attendees from beginning to end.
Designing for BNVC was meticulous, spanning weeks of careful planning and ideation. From eye-catching advance advertisements to booklets and big checks for the event's closing, every detail was carefully thought through to ensure a seamless and memorable experience. The designs exuded a clean and professional feel, enriched with vibrant colors that ignited our audience's interest and excitement.
Our strategic advertising approach involved social media and placing an impactful ad in the MSU VIM magazine, broadening our reach to students beyond the Burgess Institute.
At the event, guests were warmly welcomed with an informative booklet, providing them with essential details and Burgess voting bucks, adding an interactive element to the occasion. BNVC's creative twist allowed attendees to vote for their favorite teams using "Burgess Bucks," culminating in a thrilling competition and rewarding the top two teams with $1,000 each.
While dedicated to crafting BNVC's designs, I embarked on a parallel journey as an entrepreneur, developing my personal venture, Fello. It was an honor for Fello to be chosen as a semi-finalist in BNVC 2022, competing alongside companies much older and more established. Despite Fello's young age of six weeks, we secured an impressive 6th place overall and an admirable 3rd place in the people's choice category.

As a human-centered designer and a passionate advocate for entrepreneurship, BNVC 2022 exemplifies the convergence of my creative talents and dedication to fostering innovation in communities. Through my commitment to excellence, BNVC became an unforgettable celebration of innovation and entrepreneurship, embodying the spirit of the Burgess Institute.
